Dear Brown Eyes,

Dear brown eyes; eyes that speak to me from out thine liquid depths of purity, and recall to memory, happier days when we strolled together through pleasant byways.

Dear brown eyes; so tenderly true. What love they spoke, I alone knew. And now as I gaze on them, a mist of tears arise in my own, as I think of hers.

Dear brown eyes; to me sweeter than life, yet now far beyond all earthly strife. Thy spirit's with the angels, forever to dwell, and I'm grieved for the one I loved so well.

Dear brown eyes; may thy spirit be as you lived on earth, happy and free. May the birds singing over thy grave pour out their sadness in melodious wave.

Dear brown eyes; How the pines sigh in mournful tune with the summer sky, and the daisy growing near, droops her petals where once you roamed near.

Dear brown eyes; All nature mourns thee, for thou art fair and good, thou didst love me. In the old cemetery neath the weeping willow lies the fairest girl I ever knew, dear brown eyes.
